Energy Saving Week
Energy Saving Week is a unique, annual event hosted by the Energy Saving Trust.
Energy Saving Week took place on 20th - 26th October and this years theme was based on Time/Balance - highlighting the simple fact that fitting being `green' into our busy lives need neither take too much time nor require too much effort!
To launch the week we unveiled results from a European survey where we asked 6000 people to see how they managed their time, what prevented them from being green and what incentives would drive them to live a greener lifestyle.
Key results showed that Brits were more likely to share a bath or cuddle in bed to save money and energy compared to our European partners, and we also found that our jobs prevented us from being green. To support the first story, we held a photo shoot where we hired 2 models to sit in a bath on a boat against the backdrop of London's iconic landmarks. We also enlisted the help of BBC's psychology and finance expert Benjamin Fry and Sustainability expert Erik Bichard to offer their opinions and views on our results.
This year we also had six official partners who held their own internal and external events across the UK. Partners this year included: PG Tips, Comet, B&Q, Boots, P&G and BSM, as well as a number of supporting partners who ran a variety of successful campaigns in their local areas.
